INVESTING IN YOU...with Arlette L.M. Jeet-Falone MBA

"Investing In You...Changing Lives by Changing Paradigms"

The Beatitude principles I deduce that are applicable to customer relation management, and the specific behaviors I would engage in to implement them.

The first principle is taken from Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

This beatitude as explained by Dr. Bruce Winston in his teachings relate to entrepreneurs by looking at the manner in which entrepreneurs regard customers.

Mourn in this sense means to have compassion for another, to feel so deeply for another as to be moved to act to benefit the other.

As an entrepreneur I would be moved to ensure that my customers are treated as I would like to be treated. I would price my goods and services in a manner that does not give me any unjust gain but ensures that my customers receive the best value for the money they expend.

The second principle is derived from Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

This beatitude denotes that as an entrepreneur I should practice equitable principles both in law as well as in business. In so doing my customers are able to see the light of God through my actions and as such be able to experience God and His way of doing and being right through their experience as my customer.

I uphold this principle by ensuring that I act according to God’s equitable principles by being just and fair in my dealings with my customers. What I sow is what I reap therefore through my efforts of showing God to my customers via my clean/equitable actions, I too am in a position to reap the same. Therefore I too shall “see” God.

I uphold this principle by keeping my promises to my customers, keeping my word, doing and providing them with what I say I shall do and provide. As well as through the following;

1. No misrepresentation

2. No false advertising

3. Honesty

4. Integrity

5. Only offer exactly what company gives or provides and is willing to give or provide

6. A company must keep its word to customers. Whatever it says it will do within its marketing campaign, the company must do.

The third principle is derived from Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

From this beatitude one can derive the principle of doing the right thing because it is right and doing it right. Righteousness is God’s way of doing and being right.

This means that as an entrepreneur I shall endeavor to do the right thing according to, when and how God would do it.

An example of this in action would be if I sold a product that was later found to be defective and I recalled and replaced this product at no charge to the customer. Indeed it would hurt me temporarily but would foster much trust and goodwill between my customers and my company thereby optimizing customer relation management.

Furthermore I may be persecuted by others within the world of business through their criticism if they believe that by recalling in such a manner will raise the bar and standards of businesses on the whole whereas they would prefer that I leave the standards where they are so they can continue in mediocrity. However in the end I shall inherit and have right here on the earth what comes from sowing good because I choose to sow good.

Respectfully Submitted,

Arlette Jeet
